CHARACTER

Name: Alban Caird
Race: Human
Nationality: Free Marcher
Mage?: no
Age: 45
Affiliation: Kirkwall Darktown
Occupation: Foreman leadership figure for the non-criminal human element.
Goal: Alban is here to gather a good team of workers, help oversee construction of shelter and housing in Darktown, and to run the team and project when Nahariel is out on assignment for the Inquisition [NOT YET]

Current goal is to help flesh out the city, especially representation of the humans of Darktown, and to provide some pushback against/guidance for whatever charitable efforts the Inquisition might make.

About: A stalwart builder in Lowtown since he was first able to place stone on stone and quite happy with his lot, Alban's life fell apart entirely after a masonry accident in which his right leg was crushed. It didn't heal well, and could no longer support his weight, rendering him unable to continue with the work he'd done his entire life. Finding he was ultimately replaceable despite years of working with the crew, many of whom he'd come to call close friends, he struggled and ultimately failed to support himself and his wife Elspeth, who despite her kindness and bright disposition had always been sickly.

Not three months after they were forced to take up occupation in Darktown, Elspeth succumbed to the constant wet and the chokedamp, leaving Alban heartbroken and alone. His proclivity for honest work eventually broke through his depression, and he helped out where he was able--a rare trait beneath the city. It's been five years of surviving and finding small joys where they could be found, and the intrepid man has gained esteem among the men and women who share his lot.

He speaks with a thick Starkhaven brogue and is sometimes a stubborn old goat, but mostly has a gentle disposition.
